Black Women are paid 61 cents for every $1 that their male counterparts earn. Among all women, the wage gap is smaller; about 80 cents for each $1.
Pull out your calculators over a 40 year career the difference would be about $946,000 less than their white male counterparts. The disparity is present regardless of education, location, age or job title.
Many years ago I gave my fee to teach a health/ fitness class which was $50 per session. Later I found out a high ranking man said how could I possibly think they would pay me that amount? He was right I was worth so much more than that amount. I know my worth, I know my brand, I know my influence and I’m unapologetically navigating my way.
Support a woman owned business not only today, any and every day. I was on a zoom call yesterday and this statement was made and I share it with you. Equality is making sure everyone has shoes; equity is making sure that the shoes fit.
